Short biography
German artist, 1967, Barcelona resident, architect and pinholer since 1996. The actual BOXOCAM tin camera was created in 2003. Since 2004 publishing every year the Camera Obscura Boxocam Calendar. Works show in solo and group exhibitions at Hamburg, Berlin, Sevilla, Barcelona, Paris, San Francisco, Melbourne and others.
Artist's statement „Berlin am Mauerweg”
In the center of Berlin, nowadays often visitors are searching for the exact trace of the former Berlin wall. Only about twenty years ago, the wall was scary and omni-present, but today in most places only specific information can help to find the trace, to distinguish East from West. Only very few original towers or wall segments are remaining, sometimes a double brick strip marks the trace. At other place new-build scenography as the Checkpoint Charlie sets up a kind of Wall Show. New border-crossing elements like the federal buildings or some bridges connect the two parts of the city. The pinhole photographer takes a walk in search of the traces along the former Berlin Wall. His pinhole camera is a pefect tool for the documentary review. The low position and the strong ingrediant of time in the photo are focussing to impressive images along these scenery.
